First Bracketology of the Season

The bottom not being absolutely terrible is the main difference. It would still be the 5th best conference (in front of the ACC), so not a good power conference, but performing better then they have IMO.

Not their worst year but certainly not their best since 2016. Here's the EOY KenPom ratings from 2021 that season:

1. USC (6th nationally)
2. Colorado (8th nationally)
3. UCLA (13th nationally)
4. Oregon (16th nationally)
5. Arizona (29th nationally)
6. Oregon State (43rd nationally)
7. Utah (44th nationally)
8. Stanford (57th nationally)
9. Washington State (78th nationally)
10. Arizona State (86th nationally)
11. California (114th nationally)
12. Washington (129th nationally)

Certainly performed well in the tournament that year, but only 5 teams made the tournament, and Oregon State only did because of the auto bid. That'd be the only year up for debate. Also, 2021 was weird because hundreds of games were either not scheduled or cancelled.

Arizona would have made the tournament if they were eligible as well. I don't even think it's "up for debate", they were significantly better

Sorry, but Zona wasn't making the tournament. 12 of their 17 wins were Q3/Q4.

The P12 finished as the worst P6 conference that year. They weren't good the entire year. Credit to them for a good tournament performance though. Similar to the ACC last year.

You gotta stop being a slave to the quad system and start watching the games. The PAC had very talented teams that year. Oregon got matched up with a 2 seed from the Big Ten and ran them off the court. The quad 1/2 wins didn't save Iowa. Same with Kansas against USC.

I do watch the games. The P12 had a great tournament. UCLA and OSU were not great teams during the season, for whatever reason. Both were incredible in the tournament though.

I'd argue that Iowa team was more talented than Oregon was, but Fran mismanaged it and they couldn't play defense worth a crap.

Getting back to the original point, it is a shame because these teams were off to a very good start relative to what they had been doing OOC lately. In this year we're debating there were very little OOC games.

I mean laugh all you want that Iowa team had two 1st rounders coming off the bench, including a top 5 pick. And a NPOY.

I watched the game. LOL

Yeah, so did I. Iowa had 4 guys off that team get drafted. Oregon I think just 1? The more talented team doesn't always win, it's what makes sports great.

I mean this post is just stating emphatically that you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

This was in reply to Eric's comment about zona resume and their Q3/4 wins.

"stop being a slave to the quad system". The quad system and quality of wins is quite literally what is used for selection. Which was what was being refuted. Whether or not they would have been selected.

Will be interesting to see how Jexas gets into the top 64, let alone an 11 seed. They are 12-5 (1-3) and have one quad 1 win which I assume is OU. Looks like they could have 7 or 8 conference losses before they get win #2.
