Football players get a cramp or stub a toe and have to be carried off and miss half a season, hockey players literally have their heart stop, get shocked back to life and ask to go back in the game (true story).

Hockeys appeal is funny tbh.

It’s fast, violent, not overly complex and the only sport that allows fighting, it screams everything people from BumfuckEast southern US should love.

But it’s also $1000 for even the most basic gear and $200/hr for ice time, so people from BumfuckEast can’t afford it.

How about: some MLB pitcher gets a blister and an infection and misses 20 games? A NHL player takes a puck or stick to the mouth, loses a pile of blood and teeth and is back on the ice in the same game.

Guys from BumfuckEast don’t like anything unless it involves latent homsexuality that they can blow off as "manly"

Also, football equipment is just as if not more expensive, doubt they'd have an interest if they actually had to pay for it.
