We still use a crock pot a lot more than the Instant Pot. I haven't done it yet, but one thing I was considering doing was trying a microwave cookbook and getting one for my FIL if the food comes out good. It seems like he could read instructions on the TV dinners, so I would assume that he could potentially cook in the microwave.

I was a power user of the crockpot through school and early years out of school, but the instapot has relegated that thing to the back of the pantry. My favorite was doing a roast, try this if you do roast in yours too:

I don't mind using it, my wife seems to have a hang-up with the timing of the instant pot. We've done a few things that have turned out good, but she likes recipes where she can dump stuff in the cooker at like 10-11 and have it ready at dinner time. And I still use it for corned beef when I make it.

Given Caleb Williams didn't play a senior season in college, lost 5 of his last 6 games as a junior and had a better sophomore season than junior season overall, I'd want to get the kid as many live reps as possible. It's dumb AF to treat the kid who cried in his mommy's arms last year like a seasoned veteran already.

Tub cartridge stopped working yesterday. Was able to get it swapped out and working eventually. Working in a full surround tub was kind of a pain in the ass.

The pipes make a weird noise when the tub is set to mixed water, but it goes away when the shower is on, so I'll deal with it until tonight, and then try shutting off the water with the tub faucet set in the position that it's making the noise. It was doing it when I had it set to hot last night, so I at least was able to take a comfortable shower this morning without extra noise.

First week of camp wrapped up tonight. 90 degrees the last two days and the kiddos are crushing it.

It may be too late to teach them, as new thing can be overwhelming but Instapots are amazing for "set it and forget it". Even easier than the old school crockpot, since they can shut off on their own. We did that for my grandparents, would go over in the morning and dump in whatever was needed and then wrote down what time dinner would be ready. They could open it on their own, but it would go on when needed, run as long as it needed, then set on keep warm and it was all done.

Yeah the good thing is my dad does know about the Instapot/crockpot so I think we should be ok with that. Now will he actually use it is the real question.

That's rough, sorry to hear it. Went through it with both my grandparents on my moms side, so I know she will likely get it too. I've been pushing them to move out of BFE and near me or my brother because I can't be driving 2 hours each way every day to check on them when things get bad.

Thank you very much! Yeah it is getting tough now as we are "seeing" it more now and it's just so hard to know that the person who you know and love isn't the same anymore. They are still there but can't "get out" and it's very hard to take. Also, as I mentioned earlier it is so hard to see my dad breaking down mentally and emotionally it's so hard to see that as well.
