Florida going on the road in non-con

The fact they are soft is music to my ears. The fact that they haven't left the state since 1991 is just a stupid way to criticize them when they play FSU every year, and Miami 7 times during that time period. LOL at you guys for not being able to see the nuance here ... I hate the Gators, and I love every time anyone gives them any shit. But do it for actual meaningful reasons.

Georgia plays Georgia Tech every year. They still managed to have lots of OOC road games.

Trust me, I enjoyed that game a lot. Was pulling for the Utes the whole time.

I hope they are terrible for a long time to come.
It's wild that they can't get shit figured out. Major school, major conference, middle of the most talent-rich area in the country and they suck year in, year out.

I can honestly say that (1) Ga Tech sucks and isn't anywhere near the team FSU has been over the years, and (2) the pussy UF fans should have been complaining about the away schedule ... I would have been. I love going to great away games and have all my life. I'd have raised hell if we never left Georgia. But, I'll still defend UF's OOC with FSU and Miami (yes, I know they don't play every year). Even with all the travel and playing the Nerds every year, UF has had the tougher OOC when compared to UGA. Maybe not in the last 10 years, but that's because FSU has become a poverty program like the Gators.

No need to proceed beyond this point.

Here's the thing ... if you take away the Spurrier and Meyer years, UF has not been good. They won their first SEC championship in 1991. They went forever without winning while all the other great programs were winning many. They had a great run of about 17 years, and that's it. Yet UF fans think their program is a blue blood program. It's not, although it should be with their recruiting territory.

They can’t leave the state to play a non-conference game? They play Miami very rarely. And FSU since 2013 has not been anything to crow about. This isn’t much of a defense.

LOL, a Notre Dame fan talking about the relevance of FSU is laughable.

We all can't make a rivalry game out of Navy.

Navy isn't their rivalry game
Your only allowed one now? News flash if you're not in the same conference, but you've played every year since 1927, it's a rivalry game.

It really is remarkable to look at their historical records year by year. It really is just the Spurrier years, a few years of somewhat decent play, then the Urban years with a few decent years sprinkled in here and there. LOL at them being a blueblood.

There has only been five regular season games between FSU and Miami in the last thirty five years. Nobody gaf about bowl games. Additionally, the infamous dynasty run that FSU built it's name off of ended in 2001. Outside of the 2012-2015 run Jimbo had, FSU has been nothing special since that time. This is just weak stuff from Florida.

I didn’t pay close enough attention when I looked it up, but apparently it’s 5 times, bowl games don’t count toward out of conference scheduling. 5 times in 32 years isn’t regularly scheduling them.

Again, even with the florida state rivalry their 8 game conference schedule gives them 3 opportunities/year to schedule legit home/home series with other P5 programs like everyone else does. They’re gonna get made fun of when last night was the first time they’ve done it in 32 years. Defending them is weird.

Facts, bitch.

It's the most delusional fanbase in CFB. Because of their B2B wins in hoops they are equally as delusional with basketball. They literally forced out their coach who had taken them to the tournament every year except 1, and he got them to the Sweet 16. That wasn't good enough for them. LOL.

Still can't believe they did that with Donovan. At any rate, they're definitely not a serious football program right now. Unless something dramatically changes, I'm guessing they're looking for a new HC after this year.

It wasn't Donovan ... he's the guy that had them good for the only time in their history. It was Mike White ... he left to go to UGA because the fanbase was so bad to him and his family. Think about that ... it was so bad at UF he chose to go to a poverty hoops program like ours.

In White's second year in his tenure at Florida (NIT first year), White's team secured a 4 seed in the East Region of the 2017 NCAA Tournament, reaching the Elite Eight before being eliminated by SEC rival #7 seed South Carolina. The Gators would make the tournament over the next four seasons completed (2018, 2019, and 2021), never advancing past the round of 32.

LOL I didn't realize that about Mike White. Didn't they force Donovan out too?

I think it’s inarguable that ND has more relevance than FSU. Since 2013, ND has made the playoffs twice. What has FSU done in that time frame?

Not to mention ND is 2-1 against FSU in that time frame. I’ll dunk on FSU all I want, goober.

The only reason this game is played because ND has a debt of honor to Navy. During WWII enrollment at ND dropped so low that the school was in danger of closing. Navy set up training facilities there that kept the school afloat.

In gratitude ND promised to play them as long as Navy wants to. It’s not a rivalry in any other sense. And if it is, then it’s the most lopsided rivalry ever.
