Again, even with the florida state rivalry their 8 game conference schedule gives them 3 opportunities/year to schedule legit home/home series with other P5 programs like everyone else does. They’re gonna get made fun of when last night was the first time they’ve done it in 32 years. Defending them is weird.

Exactly...just like making fun of Washington for not beating a ranked OOC regular season opponent in 22 years is also perfectly acceptable...and facts.

Made the playoffs once...and was equally as competitive as ND. ND is FSU with better PR.

The only reason this game is played because ND has a debt of honor to Navy. During WWII enrollment at ND dropped so low that the school was in danger of closing. Navy set up training facilities there that kept the school afloat.

In gratitude ND promised to play them as long as Navy wants to. It’s not a rivalry in any other sense. And if it is, then it’s the most lopsided rivalry ever.

9 of the last 20 games have been 1 score games...doesn't seem that lopsided to me...particularly for a G5-P5 rivalry.

Donovan left to coach in the NBA. He left once, came back before he started, and then left a year later.
 
Is it safe to say that Florida probably won’t leave the state for an OOC game again for at least 20 years?

81-13-1 in favor of ND. Pretty lopsided. But yeah, sure, less than half of the last 20 meeting ls were by one score. It’s not so lopsided if you count moral victories. Lol.
