Brian Kelly might not a have a great record in big games, but he’s made the playoffs twice and coached his team to a BCS NCG. That’s a pretty strong resume, and it’s a lot easier to win at LSU than it is at Notre Dame in modern times.

That LSU team has talent and speed too.

I think the game is a tossup, but I’d give LSU a significant advantage at HC.

But it’s entirely possible that both of these teams lose 5+ games this season

No. LSU has 3 natties this century with 3 different coaches and are the only major program in a talent rich state. They might face stiffer competition along the way, but it’s easier to build a championship caliber roster at LSU, no real debate
