morning

no real big plans this weekend and I am pretty excited about that.

some final details to iron out with the wedding, but I really need to get out and get the lawn mowed and cleaned up some.

also fuck the Mets
 
Got my day started with a fucking blue alert at 4am. I support the police almost to a fault, but WTF do they expect me to do when a cop is shot near Amarillo which is 6 damn hours away?

So the net result is all alerts get turned off on all our phones. Just get new ones and I guess they were reset in that move over, and even though it's on silent all the time and was in sleep mode the phone decided it needed to go off at full blast.

Now that is out of the way, what is up with all these playoff teams that can't win at home? And the one that did win at home pretty much was just able to because the Braves were too stubborn to move regular season games and had to play a double header before heading west.

Grand's flag team avenged a close loss from last week & whooped that team in the opening playoff round. They now get go play the 1 seed. Meanwhile we had the last tackle practice of the year. Under the lights tomorrow for both teams. I'm expecting us to get murdered unfortunately. Then it will be basketball & wrestling coming full tilt soon enough.
 
Wife finally went to the doctor yesterday, got medication for sinusitis. Now I know why her mother almost died last year. I told her on Wednesday she should go to the doctor, then yesterday when she finally decides it's time to go she's texting me while I'm on a call for work and making it seem like I won't lift a finger to help her.

Thankfully I only lost power on and off the day of the storm. Just still need to finish up cutting up the base of the tree and filling in the whole.

I have walked around the majority of the surrounding neighborhood and a few places still without power because of downed lines. This morning I saw a giant oak had fallen on a house and fucked up the house entirely. I felt pretty bad because I know they had just put a lot of work into that house making it look good. Pretty sure they have kids too.

Now we’re just dealing with shortages at stores because the stores had to throw out a lot of their food, then people started panic buying with the dumb union shit.

Glad to hear you're mostly in the clear. I've dealt with enough that I bought a generator a couple of years after buying the house. Our grid got a lot better after the trees got culled by Sandy, we used to have short outages in almost any storm where the wind got up to 30 mph.

Hopefully you're on the other side of it now, and yeah, it's tough to see neighbors cleaning up serious damage.
