dropped off my truck to get the axle and hub bearings replaced, so I got no car to get around with today.

How much they charge? I helped someone do this long ago, this might be one of those jobs I’d prefer to have done than do myself. Messy and greasy.

it will probably come out to around $1k

it isn't a full axle, just the CV axle....but not something I want to attempt myself

not too bad a week for a 4 day week

made some pesto orzo and meatballs from my meal kit last night that was outstanding and pretty fun and easy to put together.

Could have played some golf today instead of working, but got notice too late.

Meeting friends that are in town from Chicago for dinner tonight.

Too steep, yeah I’d just roll up the sleeves on this one.

I don't mind autowork, but when it comes to something above my abilities, I am willing to accept that and pay the money. I am not really worried about the cash. Truck is 10 yrs old and has never given me a problem, so I don't mind throwing a little money into it to keep it that way for a while longer.

I tried to remove my license plate last week and snapped both fucking screws off, so now they’re stuck in the truck.

Good times.

supposed to go to NJ next weekend but my mom is still being super cautious about COVID so will have to get a test sometime next week to make sure I am not bringing it to her. We are all vaccinated, but she is still worried. Whatever, her house, I will do as she asks.

went to golf on Wednesday and a supervisor from the plant is standing by me talking about he has/had COVID over the last week and still isn't feeling 100% but he thinks it might be pneumonia or something, but he needed to get out and golf. The other supervisor in his cart was like "just smoke a cigar, you'll feel better." Dude who has it is easily 350+ lbs.

I do less and less of my own work on cars. Some of it is convenience, some of it is that it's a hassle if something goes wrong. The last time I did a rotor replacement, I had to wind up putting in some new lugs because a couple of nuts got over-tightened and the lugs broke.

If you don't have legit every tool you could need on hand for the job in case something goes south, it becomes a massive pain. I had no car, had to go out and buy lugs that day and get them pulled through correctly. Fun times.
