Mr. Kobe got offered a big interim promotion last night. He is currently a regional medical director, managing about 8 clinics and about 100 docs, in addition to seeing patients a couple days a week. His boss, who manages all of the primary care clinics in the system (about 550 docs) called to say the guy above him was either fired or quit and he was going to take over that interim job.
Job is Mr. Kobe’s on an interim basis (about 9-10 months) if he wants it. Step up in pay and a job he eventually would’ve applied for anyway (but not for probably 10 years). But he’d have to give up almost all patient care...probably down to maybe 1 day a week. He’s torn in what to do.
