Frost fired

Guess "outhitting" their opponents wasn't good enough.

And the next coach will need 7 years until we can judge him.
That just gives their fans another built in excuse when you see Nebraska trying to keep up with the Wisconsin and Iowa's of CFB. New coach, new person to blame. It was Solich's fault. It was Callahan's fault. It was Pelini's fault. It was Riley's fault. It was Frost's fault.

At some point their fans will understand their ceiling in today's CFB is 8 or 9 wins. They cannot and will never be able to recruit with the elite programs in today's CFB.

You mean like how Michigan fans continually told us that every single one of Hoke’s guys had to be gone before we could even rate Harbaugh?

I wasn't one of them. I've said for a long time -- UM has almost zero chance to be among the elite programs, it doesn't matter who their coach is. UM will simply never be able to recruit like Bama, or like Georgia, or even like Ohio State.

UM's ceiling was essentially last year. They will be able to beat OSU once in a while. They will win the B1G once in a while. But being the dominate team in the B1G -- those days are done. Only way it could ever change is UM decides to start buying recruiting classes.

BREAKING: My sources embedded deep within the football program in Lincoln tell me that John L. Smith has just landed at Lincoln Regional.
SMILE!!! SMIIIIIIILE!!!!!

I’m shocked didn’t wait the 3 more weeks till buyout drops. I’m sure the donor money was already there but Damn
My speculation is that some booster called Trev Alberts and said, "Fire him today. The check is in the mail."

Yea Walter Scott Jr family might be the one to pull that string from the scuttlebutt I've heard

Not my money but seems stupid to fire him now

Don't they have all the tickets in the stadium already all sold out like they've had since 1962?

If so ....why wait? The money is there already.....

i agree, it's new reality for Nebbie.

They should be able to be Wisconsin at it's peak or maybe even current Michigan, but I don't see them returning to their 90's glory

They all think the'yre just the right coach away from that though

There is no reason we cant be as good or better than michigan.

Nebraska has never recruited at an elite level even in the 90's most those guys were from nebraska

They won't even get to current Michigan because they can't recruit like Michigan either. Michigan recruiting classes are in the 5-15 range each year, with most in the 8-10 range. Nebraska's recruiting classes are in the 15-30+ range with most around 25ish. And the only reason they'd even have a shot to win their division is because they play in the division without any big time programs, so the talent level should be comparable there.

To put it in perspective how big of a disadvantage Nebraska's coaches are to even Michigan's coaches.

2012-2022 -- UM signed 86 guys who were top 200 recruits.
Nebraska signed 20 guys who were top 200 recruits.

If you move it to top 100 recruits -- the difference is even greater. But just to take the average that 6 extra top 200 recruits a year that coaching staff has to work with at UM.

The crazy part is -- the different in talent level between UM and Nebraska recruits is roughly the same between UM and OSU recruits. That is how enormous the difference is between a school that recruits top 5 and a school that recruits top 10 classes.

^^ retard actually believes his nonsense lol

Yes, but I think it's possible right coach could get them recruiting at that level once they establish some success

It wouldn't happen overnight

College football has changed and Osborne defintiely had a Texas/Cali pipeline

And rumors the walk on program wasn't on the up and up
