Game Day coming to Third Saturday in October matchup

I can't believe the Spurrier graphic didn't include his Duke wins. Both of them.

He did win an ACC Championship while at Duke.

Not sure. I know most graphics are only SEC because non-SEC coaches would definitely be in this mix.

It feels different this year. I put a very small wager on UTenn to win it all. Roll Vols!

This is all about Bryce’s health. Bama’s run game is sporadic. Lots of 0-2 yard runs followed by an explosive play. The OL isn’t like those Bama OLs of the past. If Milroe is the QB I can’t see Bama winning, unless he makes a meteoric leap from last week. I actually think the true Freshman may take snaps. Need someone to take advantage of Tenn’s weakness on defense. I am not sure about the Tenn OL, but I expect Tenn to score pts. Bama’s CBs are not great and they leave them on an island a lot. Tenn had the QB and WRs to get some explosive plays, assuming the blocking is reasonable.

I hope you are right :).

Honestly, in these type of games, it really comes down to a lot of luck and who gets the breaks. Hendon Hooker and company need to make the big plays and hit the passes. No overthrows or mistakes. The secondary needs to make plays to get off the field.

On Defense, Tennessee has a good defensive line but our secondary is very slow and they play far off the WRs as a result.

Milroe was really bad in the pocket last week. Though playing off and giving him an easy read, maybe a cure.

We will give up some yardage. Our defense has a harder time with long field so key will be to hold them to FGs or stop them near red zone with shorter field so our secondary speed is less impactful.

To be honest, Tennessee fans can NOT really talk trash. Thanks to Saban and last 15-16 years, the gulf between Tennessee and Alabama is now massive. No way Tennessee can be in same breath as Alabama unless we win like 20 straight games and win 5-6 National Titles which isn't happening.

In truth, both of our programs were at risk of sliding before you guys hit the lottery with Saban. Alabama has a lot better talent then Tennessee but both states are behind Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana for in-state talent. Those schools should be the kings of the SEC right now (especially Florida).

We have got to be in the final days! Saban’s Bama has fully completed the transition from Game Manager QB U to QB Dependent U.

which is why he is the greatest. ADAPTABILITY

I will admit, in past years I looked upon this game as a used to be rivalry that fell apart. This year has a different feel and I am legit scared of which Bama team will show up to the game this weekend. No matter which team, Tennessee has the ability to beat Bama this year. I look for a good game if Bryce plays and is healthy. If he doesnt, I am not sure our OC has the ability to utilize Milroe in the manner in which Milroe can shine. Good luck on Saturday. Its gonna be fun either way.

I am starting to doubt Bryce Young plays. However, I could see Alabama putting in Ty Simpson. I am not sure that we are really in the know of how Alabama is going to approach the QB position. Simpson might be a better option for you from a passing perspective.

I dont think they trust his ability to manage an entire game yet. Putting in that kid in a pumped up Neyland, first start, might just shell shock the kid and ruin his career. I know Saban did that to Tua in the title game, but that was win or go home. This is win, but you might still be a National title winner at the end if things fall your way. I saw Simpson in a game and he looked a bit unnerved even in garbage time. Might not be a good game to put in Simpson, but Saban is Saban and he might chance it if Milroe doesnt produce.

Listening to Josh Pate, Alabama's best bet would be to put pressure on Hendon Hooker with their defense and force turnovers. I agree with that take. Alabama's defense is going to have to find way to put pressure on Tennessee and force throws/mistakes.

I think our only shot is to limit that high powered offense with our defense, and hope our offense can run the ball, if Bryce doesnt play.
If Saban was truthful, Bryce is on a pitch count, which means he is not 100% yet. That doesnt bode well for Bama if he isnt. Neyland will be rockin, and if Bruce cannot go for long, then Milroe will not be able to handle that pressure of Neyland, and the Vols defense. I am optimistic, but very cautious about this game.

The stadium noise seems to often not work for us though :(. Reference Ole Miss last year as an example. Not sure why that is because it is a loud and difficult place to play. Historically, it has only worked for us with OOC games. It was very impactful in the 1998 Florida vs. Tennessee game though.

If I'm Tennessee I absolutely want Bryce Young to play. If both Tennessee and Bama lose to Georgia you don't want the excuse of "well Bama didn't have Bryce Young" to be used when they get picked over you for the final playoff spot
