When Tressell was fired or resigned, Fickell was the interim. Tough situation in any form. Then they bring in Meyer and Fickell is sent back as co-defensive coordinator. Seemed like a slap in the face. How?
You think he should have been HC instead of Day? I would rather have Fickell but its hard to argue with what Day has done and hard to argue if Fickell could have gotten it done without Riddle. At the end of the day, he has a nice P5 job where he doesn't have to win the conference every single year or people lose their minds or have the pressure of a massive rivalry like tOSU vs Michigan. If he can endure the weird culture at Wisconsin then he should have a job for the next 15 years.
I like the dude but he has nothing to complain about.
Again Meyer won the national championship so it's hard to argue with that immoral call. When Tressell was fired or resigned, Fickell was the interim. Tough situation in any form. Then they bring in Meyer and Fickell is sent back as co-defensive coordinator. Seemed like a slap in the face.
Perhaps Its nothing, but seems there would be some bad feelings there
So if you think about it, what does he have 6-7 games under his belt? That's not a lot. From an outsider's perspective I see progress with him. He seems more assertive with his mechanics where earlier in the year you could almost see him thinking about it.

I think you are on the wrong thread evidently this is now the "oh I should be worried about Wisconsin my penis is small" Ohio State thread.
The way I understood it, Fickell never had any delusions about keeping the HC job. He was a stop gap when Tressel retired. I think I remember an interview where he himself said he wasn't ready.
They then hire Meyer and the rumor was it was basically demanded of him that he keep Fickell on staff and he was made co-defensive coordinator with Everett Withers, which was a promotion from his job before interim HC as he was not d coordinator with Tressel. Now Fickell called the defensive plays and he didn't do a great job at it. The defense in 2012 and 13 was not good. Force Withers out but still keep Fickell and bring in Chris Ash to help with play calling. Defense immediately improves. Ash stays for two seasons before going to Rutgers and they bring Schiano in for a season before Fickell leaves for Cincinnati.
Need to bring it back, not having it just adds to the pussification of the sport and I’m 100% against that..The Old Beer Barrell game. Well, they don't play for it anymore thanks to Tim Couch and Co.
No bitching with choices the pickings are slim this week.
- Oklahoma vs Kansas 12pm - After the UCF game and Kansas playing tough this year I like this game
- South Carlina vs Texas A&M 12pm - This is a game aTm could lose so watching is about an Aggie collapse but not a great game
- Georgia vs Florida 3:30pm - World's largest cocktail party as a rivalry game at a neutral site what is not to like
- BYU vs Texas 3:30pm - Ewers is out and that makes this game interesting
- Oregon vs Utah 3:30pm - Probably the biggest game of the week
- Duke vs Louisville 3:30pm - Both teams are ranked but will Duke QB Leonard play?
- Tennesse vs Kentucky 7pm- Another rivalry game that could go either way
- Ohio State vs Wisconsin 7:30pm - Ohio State is going to kill them but its supposed to be a big game (but isn't)
- Colorado vs UCLA 7:30pm - The return of Prime Time and don't pretend that Colorado isn't must see TV this year
So basically we have Oregon vs Utah and everyone else. I'm pretty sure the majority of us could pick straight up who is going to win most if not all these games with very few misses. Just not a great week. If you are going to just watch one game in each time slot I've bolded who you should watch for most entertainment value.
Trends for the year so far:
- B1G has very few games that have great appeal for non B1G fans so picking up the PAC teams was a good move
- PAC has been the massive surprise this year as they are producing more must see games then they have in years so a good way to go out
- ACC has been surprising with FSU, DUKE and Louisville being ranked and fun to watch
- SEC is down this year and producing less must see games than normal but still better everyone but the PAC
- Big 12 - The new additions aren't really moving the needle
- Colorado is the biggest surprise of the year and I don't care what you say people are watching even when they lose its like a car wreck and people can't turn away
Because I’m more interested in Colorado train wreck than watching OSU beat Wisconsin?UCLA Colorado was over OSU Wisky?
bias
