Gary Patterson fired by TCU

Sure he would have if he had Dave Aranda, Joe Brady and Joe Burrow.
It was their freaking receivers. Every single one of them had an incredible catch radius. Burrow just had to get it anywhere within 5 feet and those jokers dove, twisted and dug to get the ball.

Nothing against Burrow as he is an excellent talent but damn those receivers could make anyone look good and their running game was very good as well.

As far as Gary Patterson this was the longest 'down' streak of his career, this being the third season in a row in which he may not get to 10 wins. But his record has been stellar and cyclical, up eras and rebuild eras.

You're right. That team was loaded.

they had most of them the season prior too

Patterson headed to Florida or LSU.

He sees the writing on the Big12 wall and knows if he wants to keep getting his ass kicked he’s gonna have to get an SEC job.

Gary showed years and years and years of loyalty to TCU when bigger and better programs came calling. As soon as he didn't have a top ranked team they show him the door.

Good luck ever keeping another coach, TCU. As soon as they crack the top25 they will start applying for better schools.

they showed him loyalty when they didn't let him go after his players were busted for having an on campus drug ring. He was also losing players right now in his locker room. They bought Zach Evans for him and now Zach wants out.

He's been spending more time in the studio instead of the film room.. all this is from the TCU boards, so I'm not just being a hater here. He still hasn't been able to find an offense since Boykin left. He tried bringing back the old crew last season and it didn't work.

He needs a fresh start, or take some time off and hit the booth like Mack did and learn from the outside perspective the way Mack did. He's still young enough to comeback and have another run elsewhere.

Before schools fire coaches I wish they'd ask one question: Can we trade up?

If not, be patient, especially if your HC is a goddamn legend at ur school.

LSU did this with Les Miles and it got them to being -24.5 underdogs against their biggest rival this weekend. (Been waiting to work that in somewhere. 😁)

To be fair if he was the coach at Alabama and had 3 down seasons our fans would be calling for his head, but we're a very emotional bunch. The last time I recall telling Alabama fans to calm down was the day after the kick 6 and the response was a firm 'fuckkkkk youuuu'.

The day after an Alabama loss they should put lithium in the tap water and keep the dose steady until we win again.

We all feel bad for Alabama fans. You have it tough.

Are we sure he was fired??
Or was it a mutual thing
I think he had enough.. and the school too, with how realignment is shaking out, they need to perform better in case it implodes again.

Miles would have never turned Burrow loose to throw the ball.

yup and last time I checked LSU weren't underdogs this weekend to Tulane. They don't even play Tulane this year, so @Fredmccallyrtr is 100% incorrect.
LSU is scared of Tulane and have dodged them for years. The state legislature should make them play.

amen brother

Tulane is a private school though, so i don't think Louisiana can do that.
