Yeah, I noticed that too, the other day. Last weekend, a dozen were $3.99 and by Wednesday they were $4.99.

Meanwhile gas is around $3.05... That's down about $.10 from last week. Must be an election coming up or something. :rolleyes2:

Elections happen in Fall. Fall gas prices are always show a trend line down out of summer. There's nothing irregular happening here.

Yep...and predictably...we are falling off of highs from 2022 in time for dems to claim gas prices have come under control. Just in time for elections.

Look at the decline from 2014 to 2016. Predictable. Just like today.

So you think the dems made the gas prices go down over 2 years because of the Nov election in 2016? That makes sense to you?

In reality what you're looking at is gas prices peaking in Summer 2014 (aug) and sharply dropping. Then again spiking through Spring and Summer 2015, and then sharply dropping in Fall 2015. They were more stable over 2016, but again, notice they rose through most of that year, we didn't see a typical spike (and I'm sure you could look into specific factors that caused that).

So in your mind they purposefully dropped gas prices in 2014 and 2015, but then didn't drop gas prices right before Trump was elected because they wanted Hillary to lose?

Gas prices and supply has been trending down since the covid/Russian supply cutoff peaks in 2022. And given how much we're pumping, and should the other global market stabilize a bit, it wouldn't shock me if this downward trend continued irrelevant of who is in office. Make note of this comment if Trump wins and you try and claim it's because of him or if Kamala wins and you try and claim it's democrats rigging prices somehow.
 
Cushing inventory levels have steadily decreased from May 17 at 36 million barrels thru last week at 23 million barrels.
Usually when oil stocks drop, prices go up, and when inventories increase, prices go down.

It's just the opposite right now.
Go figure.
