We're still in the $4.55 - $4.69 range. But it IS tourist season here now, so don't expect much lower until after Labor day weekend.
Fortunately, my car usage is very minimal here. I rarely go off the island during the summer.

I think there’s some federal law that limits how high it can go. I vaguely remember hearing something about that a long time ago but I’m not sure if it’s true or if it’s still in effect.
I can tell you that the price of oil has significantly raised electric rates out here. It’s up to .43 a Kwh! Compare that to whatever your electric rates are.

Russia.
They now have to source it from elsewhere.
I would think so. NO refineries there... AFAIK anyway.

I’ve got property out here. When the shit went down regarding the situation in Ukraine the power company sent out an email saying “expect the price of electricity to go up”. It was .34 per kWh. It pretty much went to .41 per kWh almost immediately and it’s now up to .43 per kWh.
Luckily, right around the time of the increase I had a solar panel system that I had purchased last year finally get permitted and installed. Before the price hike my power bill was about 550 bucks per month. After install and even after the price hike it’s down to about 150- 200 (depending if I’m there or not). I don’t even wanna think about what it would be if it hadn’t gotten it.

There’s a big problem with electricity out here. They have 2 coal or oil fired plants that provide most of the electricity out here. About 10 years ago they decided to go to renewable energy which meant that one of those plants is set to be shut down next year. Last year HECO (that’s the power company out here) went to the state and told them that their alternative energy programs were behind schedule so they asked for more time. The state told them to pound sand (at least for now) and to get moving they are talking about rolling blackouts if that plant comes off line. It’s what pushed me to go for the solar panel system.

Same here, $4.39 was the cheapest in town on the 16th and I put $75 bucks in the old Dodge yesterday @ $4.17/gal. Got me to 5/8ths of a tank

Prices holding here. Circle K 3.87. In the other town, Murphy's 3.92, Sprint Mart of the edge of town 4.05. Haven't been further into that town, so I don.t know what the other Sprint Mart is. It has been from 2 to 5 cents cheaper than the other SM. Been awhile since I've been in Natchez so I don't know what's going on there, but last time they were at least 10 cents higher than Louisiana.

So I did some quick math.
According to my solar panel app, I used about 102 kwh of power yesterday. At .43 per KWh that’s about 43-44 bucks for power just yesterday. If I lived here full time and used the same amount my power bill would be over 1,300 per month!
Instead, I used my solar panels and back up batteries (I have 4 of them) after the sun went down and used only 7 Kwh of power from HECO. At .43 cents per KWh that’s about 3 bucks for the day. Again, if I lived here that’s less than a hundred bucks a month.
Now, to be fair, there are other fees and I get a credit for some of the power I sell back so the numbers aren’t exact but you get the idea.
