This is a downside to the playoff. These bowl games are becoming so forgettable. Not only are they starting super early now, as the first bowl game was last Saturday night, but they are played during the work week well before the holidays and/or at the same time as the playoff and no one is going to watch.
I have a few of the low tier bowls I always enjoy watching and I think with the playoff I will totally forget they are even on or when they are on.
