Been playing around doing country songs in blues mode. Getting some interesting melodies from it.

Do any of you do Trans music?

Not really by myself, but when jamming with others, we do a lot of bluegrass versions of rock songs. Rock needs moar fiddle anyways

I take familiar pop songs and reharmonize the chords into jazz songs; e.g. -- "867-5309", "I Kissed A Girl", "We're Not Going To Take It".

No but I listen to some music that really doesn’t have a genre. Whiskey Myers and Tyler Childers to name a few

Hey @occupant

If you aren’t on ice waiting for college kids to hack your corpse up, tell me you haven’t already thought of this album?

Is that you, Tortelvis?

I play an acoustic version of Eminem's Lose Yourself. The lyrics are a pain in the ass and take a ton of energy. A lot of words.

I also wrote a funk arrangement of Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer that I used to play a lot back in the day.

Insomuch as I play acoustic almost exclusively, I feel like a large percentage of what I play bends the original genre to some extent. My version of Metallica's Sad But True, is quite a bit different than the original.
