Georgia legislature trying to exempt college football players from income tax

I’m not so sure we host a first round game if we lose the SECCG. I took it as them knocking out Beck on another stupid decision right before half

Probably wouldn't have gotten the 5 seed but I don't think the committee would have dropped them below 7. So that puts UGA hosting Indiana, followed by a third game against Texas

They’re gonna have to phase out CCG’s. UGA won an overtime game to win the SEC, and the excitement was killed because we were in either way

Why just football players? Are other sports exempt from this benefit? That’s going to cause all sorts of legal issues.

Long past time Congress got involved to create a national standard. Also they could resolve the players’ status as employees to at least give courts guidance on how to address NCAA rulings without resorting to their default position that there’s no CBA so the rules are invalid.
It would have to include all sports.

I’m not sure we’ve ever discussed it but the Hope Scholarship programs in Georgia and Florida have been a huge recruiting advantage for instate athletes for baseball and Olympic type sports. Their athletes could basically go tuition free without counting against their scholarship limits in those sports.

No state income tax saves athletes about 5%.

Fuck that. If they want to go down that road, then get rid of State income tax altogether. Either everybody pays it, or nobody pays it.

Georgia feels it slipping away

It was a good run boys, always remember that..

The thread title implies it's just for football players. but the linked article says it's for all Georgia college athletes.
