GAME Georgia Tech at #17 Miami, ACC Network, now

Just saw how this one ended. How do you let a receiver get behind the defense in that spot?

It should never have gotten to that point anyway.

Miami ball
3 pt lead
:42 remaining
3rd down
GT with no timeouts

Put the QB under center. Take the snap and have the QB scramble for a couple seconds and fall down.

GAME OVER!!!!

It never even should have had a chance to happen. Take a knee on 3rd down and you would have been punting the thing with pretty much no time on the clock

However, they didn't even have to punt it since the play-clock is :40

The game would have expired on 4th down. They wouldn't even have had to snap it again.

Even worse. That's insane. Who doesn't take a knee when they can run the clock out with a lead?

Why was this even close? Didn't Georgia Tech lose to a MAC team in the last couple of weeks?

Not just lose to a MAC team. They got ran by a MAC team. And not even a good one

No need to snap at :42. They could have snapped inside of 40 seconds and taken a simple knee. (They could have done that for the entirety of that series of downs).

You are correct.

I thought the game clock had stopped at :42.

Yep. Just let it get under :40 take the snap from under center and the knee. Game over.

That makes it even more bone-headed.
