Final trailer:

I liked it.

It's not as good as the original (how could it be?), but I think it tells a fun story centered on a family.

I honestly thought it was incredible. slow at first but then picked up.

the tribute to Harold though - I was in tears.

Just watched this last night.

Some Pros
- The main story was good. They did a great job of tying the main story and its characters to the original "Ghostbusters" in a believable and intelligent way that both respected and honored the first movie and its lore.
- There's more to life than metropolitan areas; I like how this story was located in a rural community and not just another "Big Apple" redo.

Some Cons
- The directing kinda sucked. From the opening scenes, there were a lot of movie faults that could've been easily averted with one subtle comment or gesture by the character. For example, even if your job is dealing with paranormal activity, you're going to react to lamps turning on and moving without human interaction. Each character acted like they've been partying with ghosts their whole lives despite saying they don't believe in ghosts.
- There really wasn't much of any emotional attachment established to any of the main characters. The characters were largely treated as props for the story. Good movies have a good story AND good characters. The main characters were pretty stereotypical and shallow overall.
- I didn't like the subtle undertones of 'country bumpkins' regarding many of the 'hometown' rural characters. *Eye-roll* at your typical metropolitan coastal elitist movie makers portraying rural central-US citizens as 'dumb hicks'.
- Gozer wasn't portrayed powerful or evil enough. ...So the story flushes out that human race is doomed to annihilation by Gozer, but a couple of kids and senior citizens can easily win the day!

I had moderate expectations of this movie going in. After watching it, I turned to my wife and said "it wasn't that bad". The story was surprisingly good, but there were too many holes and faults to consider it above average overall.

It was good but not incredible in my opinion.
