Giving the Edmonds catch some competition

Had to relive the Jeter catch where he landed in the stands......after watching it,I remember it welll....He was full in full stride when he caught it and really didnt have time to put on the brakes......
Hes lucky he came out of that unscathed.....

2:10 is the play he made:

He got bruised up pretty good, but that was at best the third best defensive play in that game. Pokey Reese had to actually go into the stands to catch a foul pop and A-Rod made a real nice 5-2 double play. Good thing for Jeter and Reese there were no nets back then

he should be in... great fielder and a force on the basepaths, 107 OPS+ but it came with a .372 OBP.

Not a spectacular catch but one of my all time favs

gotta at least have the Edmonds catch in the thread for reference

It seems like I end up mentioning that A-Rod play almost every time that the Jeter catch is brought up. It's not really a contest of course but the A-Rod play was more difficult, more valuable, pretty much every positive adjective that you can think of. And it seems like the only people that know about it are people who watched it live. I woke my future wife up yelling when he made that play, it wasn't a cheer but just a "holy shit, this is really getting good!"

Yep. And Yadi is a juiced up piece of shit!

We talking the Edmonds catch OCT 20 in the NCLS vs the Astros? Which Edmonds catch?

I think they're talking about one he made when he was with the angels. The one you're talking about was oct 21, 2004.
Game 7 of nlcs.
Oct 20 2004 was when he hit the walk off homer in the 12th.

Yeah I was at that game OCT 21. He seemed to playing pretty shallow. It was moms bday. Poor lady had hot cocoa all over her after that catch against the Stros. What a game for Hollywood
