nope. they are claiming cost of materials to rebuild. they want the Coverage A dwelling - 150k more than my house is actually worth based on the apprasial district which is 70k more than I could sell it for right now.

I hate taxes of any kind, but it takes a lot of house to reach almost $7K in property tax.

If you wanna talk property tax, that's a different story.
My property tax is much higher than my home owner's insurance + earthquake insurance.
It isn't because I have a lot of house, or even a huge lot, it's because the price of real estate around here is obscene.
