While I agree with the sentiment. This year not included (Because the fields smaller) but in a normal year when opinions still pick the 4 to play for an NC, it’s not beneficial to anyone to have your SoS go down because conference mates are losing to G5 teams (as double digit favorites) at home.
 
No excuse for losing your first gane at home, there are a lot worse non power 5 teams out there than LA and Ark St.

hasn't hurt Clemson or ND when they made the CFP. I have never cheered for a Big 12 school in OOC play to win unless they are playing aggy.. and i root hard for any big 12 team and CFB team when they are playing ou.

When did I bitch? I didn't understand LSU being ranked high after everyone leaving through draft, the portal or opting out.
