My computer is moving slow, sorry. I meant to quote redseats comment

I knew it was directed at me. Personally I say, "leave it as it is" but the NFL is a business an will do whatever they will do to get the most money.

I did say either leave it the way it is or do away with OT. IF OT is kept then leave it alone

I also don't see how the NFL profits from OT?

you mean because it is free extra football for them to broadcast?

I don't know the answer to this but a question I would have is if a game does in fact go to OT are sponsors charged for additional airtime? For example, if Liberty Mutual (which seems to be run constantly) gets more commercial time because the game ran longer would that be additional money for the NFL?

It would seem to make the most sense

If they changed OT rules and made game longer by either both teams get possession or extended the time then I would think they (NFL) would have ads pay them more money since there would be more time do put ads on tv

does LIberty Mutual not want to air commercials during 60 Minutes?

They do. Just saying.... IF more time is put on by the NFL advertisers would want to sell ads during those extra time so therefore would pay the NFL more money to have another ad put on during the OT period
y
Instead of 2 Ads during the course of a game Liberty Mutual, Google, etc would put out 2 or 3 more ads potentially, TV would get their cut and the NFL would get their cut as well

Well shit. I ended up letting the other company that I was interviewing with that I would accept their job offer last night. I went to give my boss my two week notice this morning, and instead he immediately matched the offer. Actually slightly more.

So now I feel like a jackass to have to call this other guy back and tell him I'm backing out unless they offer more.

First time doing this?

Congrats either way.

I got selected to take some new experimental monoclonal antibody therapy. Means I’d never have to take the jab. Also means maybe I’ll grow a tail.

Yeah, its always been me asking someone for a job. Never the other way around.

In my experience, you’ll actually land yourself a bigger raise doing what you’re doing (exploring your options, entertaining offers) than had your simply asked for a raise. Probably jarring for your current boss to hear your news on a Monday morning. It costs him a lot more to hire somebody new than to keep you.

With that said - if you do decide to stay - you’re the guy who was actively looking for new work, which means your boss will always have that in the back of his mind. Some bosses are cool w that while others are not.

I had a similar experience 2 years ago. I accepted a job and ready to move forward and wouldn't you know the next day another position came open that I really wanted. I had to wait about a week to complete the interview process but the 2nd opportunity was offered. I felt really awkward calling the first place back but it was the right thing to do

I'd rather just get the jab

even though COVID seems to be dying a slow death....

I'd still just get the jab

you, however, just had COVID so you should have antigens in you still...so why do anything right now?
