Yeah... THAT was crazy movie to watch when those seas went WACKO! :scared:

I've been in some pretty wicked waves out in the South China Sea back when I was in the Navy during Vietnam War (1970-74). I was on a small Destroyer Escort (USS O'Callahan DE1051) About 400 ft long.

We were trying to outrun a monsoon in the South China Sea and we were doing some super heavy rolls and the waves were coming over the top of the Bridge as we were crashing up & down with the wave action.

I had never been seasick before that time. I was on the bridge communicating with CIC (Combat Info Center). I got to feeling REAL sick and I remember saying "Sorry Captain!" and handed my headset to guy next to me and jumped down the ladder to the head and puked my guts out. :puke:

Came back up and took my headset back and the Captain just looked at me and laughed. ALL was well, I guess.

I've never been in such rough seas before and I hope to never have to go thru that ever again!! :twitch:

I don’t know what it is but I never really understood the hype that movie got which is really strange given I’m from Boston and actually not far from where that took place.
