The Guardians home opener is tomorrow at 4:10 vs. White Sox. I previously had a streak of 12 straight Indians/Guardians home openers. I have sat in some pretty interesting weather. Wife and I are going and tomorrow's forecast is supposed to be snow, high of 34 and windchills in the 20's

@ChiSoxFan are you watching from your panel lined gentleman's club?

I used to go to every home opener with a group of friends. Always had a blast, but I haven't been to one in years.

From a weather perspective, the most remarkable one I attended was 2007, when it was snowing like a mofo. They were snow blowing the field ahead of first pitch. The Indians were winning and the game was one strike from being official but dickhead Mike Hargrove, the Mariners' manager, protested at that point and the game was called on account of snow.

Also, you should call them the Indians.

2007! Yep I remember that one well! I was sitting at the very top row somewhere behind home plate.

They had to move that series to Milwaukee if I recall correctly?

I actually took and wore my ski goggles to that game as a joke.

We were in the mezzanine that year, but I do remember one year sitting in the very last row too. We were directly behind home plate though.

@SlinkyRedfoot you comment got me thinking about 2007 more. That ended up being a fun year with the post season run. The midge game against the Yankees, getting to the ALCS. Still think they could have won the WS if they had not shit themselves against the Red Sox.

You do recall correctly and there was some speculation that maybe the Indians would win the World Series because Milwaukee is where Major League was filmed.

Obviously, they didn't win it. They got knocked out of the ALCS by the Red Sox after being up 3-1. That series is what ended my Red Sox fandom once and for all.

On a plus, being the White Sox, you should at least see a home win.

any affinity I had for them ended when Healthcliff Slocumb stole my college GF

Word. Hell of a great season.

I was lucky enough to be at games 1 & 2 of the ALDS vs the Yankees. Game 1 the Indians blew the Yankees out and it was glorious because all the Yankees fans were walking into the stadium like they owned the place. Game 2 was the bug game and probably the most intense/exciting sporting event I've seen live. I still say that performance by Fausto Carmona was the best single-game pitching performance of the entire playoffs. He gave up a solo dinger in the 3rd or something and then just locked it down from there. Badass.

I have seen a few White Sox-Indians home openers. One that stands out was a game where the WS bitch slapped the Indians. It was over pretty early. WS fans were talking shit and getting into fights with Indians fans. Eventually most of the Indians fans left because of the score and the WS fans started fights with each other.

This is a direct commentary about their fanbase

Sox fans love a good fight. We aren’t like you Guardians fans saying shit like “oh you root for the same team as me? Let’s touch dix!”

You guys suck so much you couldn’t beat those Cubs assholes in the World Series. You know how terrible that was for me living in the same city with those assholes? Cubs fans are somehow fruitier than you shit bags.
