Gus Malzahn Is Not Interested In The LSU Job (or USC)

Gary Pinkel had a lot of success at Missouri despite being out recruited by most of his opponents.

UCF in 2018 wouldn't happen if you looked at just recruiting classes.

Look at teams like Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Wake Forest this year.
Nice deflection. You didn't answer the question.

None of those have had Saban like success. Not even close.

Oh, I could always use more money, but like @Illustrious Potentate mentioned, I'd probably have to put in more effort to get it. My current position pays me pretty well and doesn't require those 16 hour days you had to pull.

All that might change if my boss ever retires, and when that day comes all I can hope is that the extra money makes up for the extra amount of work
Yep. There comes a point where you can't put a price on time. I was a damn slow learner about that.

The two things you'll never hear the old person say. "I wish I'd have saved less money and I wish I'd have spent more time at work."

That's why he's probably making his "gin" in his "cordoned off" basement... :heh:
BWAH...they DO pay me enough to buy store-bought Gin, but I wouldn't mind trying to make my own. I've brewed my own beer before, can't be too much more difficult

To win National Titles, you have to recruit but it isn't everything and isn't the sole reason these teams win it all. It takes a formula of great coaching and recruiting. In fact, your Nick Saban argument actually proves my point that the coach means more than the players.

The NFL is different in that you can have players like Tom Brady that do more for the team than coaching. Belichick is not winning now that Brady is gone from New England. You don't have that same type of player dominance in college level. Schemes and coaching make a difference.

Funny @CorpRebel liked your post but he should know first hand. USC tends to recruit better than most of the Pac12, even when down, but yet they struggle. The early Oregon Chip Kelley teams that beat some of the later USC teams under Carroll and then Lane Kiffin are great examples of this mentality.

Texas A&M is loaded with talent and high recruiting classes but they have dropped 2 games so far.

My Dad and his brother used to brew their own beer. It was nasty tasting to me at the time so I didn't drink it. But he also made wine out of muscadines he grew himself. Now that was some very good stuff. He'd give us sons each a crate of his homemade wine for Christmas each year. Wished I had learned his methods before he passed away.

Muscadine wine is awesome, stuff will knock you OUT. (Don't care for the actual grapes though, too tough.)

I used to work for a guy who made it, he would do the same, give it out as holiday gifts. He's the one who first got me interested in brewing

Start watching Moonshiners on the Discovery Channel. It’s hokey and scripted but there is a ton of information on how to distill liquor.

Bathtub gin would be easy but I don’t imagine it would be that drinkable so to get good gin it will take some effort and a working knowledge of the botanicals.

Here is a good starter kit that would be low maintenance.

I like this one because it has a small thumper keg which gives you an extra opportunity to infuse flavor into what your distilling.

This is the one I’m thinking about.

Of course Auburn fans buy their moonshine stills from a store. :tsk:

This is the one I’m thinking about.

Fuck that price though.

Could you build one from scratch? Cooper is too expensive to screw it up.

Ha. Nah. I got this old guy I know to build me a small setup a few years back. I still get my best stuff from him, though.
