That "there's never a reason to hit a woman" mantra is probably the key reason why the chick was so fearlessly belligerent and abusive.I brought this up in another thread (hadn’t seen this one yet), and this was exactly the skit I was talking about.
I not ever in defense of hitting a woman….but he’s right….”there is never a reason to hit a woman” is arrogant. Technically speaking. There are reasons….you just don’t do it.
Ultimately this guy didn’t listen.

Entirely likely. She was belligerent and aggressive. She put her hands on him. He made a push to open up his personal space, she struck.
This just isn’t on the same level as a bigger guy who just hauls off and whales on a woman to me. Her man caught the worse, but she caught some too.
And….I’m just not really sympathetic. For those of us who it is socially acceptable to hit when we are being an ass….we know this….and we know if we are going to be an ass there is a chance we could take a pop.
In this particular situation, I'm curious... If the chick's boyfriend/husband would have gotten up and walked away after she told him to shut up... and left her on an island by herself... would she have continued to abuse the guy in front of her?... ...I'm thinking if she didn't have a guy sitting next to her to take a punch for her, she probably would've STFU.

I’m not so sure. At most he seemed like a weak step in. We are looking at people and judging them on 15 seconds of video. That caveat thrown down….she seems to me like she runs that relationship. He seemed very meek and only stepped in when she was swung on.
And stepped in horribly unskilled too.
