That's a real bummer. My daughter was in high school theater. She worked for several months on a lead character of a play and set design. They shut everything down the day of the first showing of the play. All that work and no live performances to show for it. "Upsetting" = emphatic understatement for all involved.
hilton head? the weather does look nice.morning all
went to HH last night to enjoy nice weather.
i can think of a bigger one.5 yrs ago today, we were hit with the biggest inconvenience ever and were all forced to learn how to make sourdough starters.
5 years later this deplorable has still yet to wear a mask and/or get the jab and I’m still here. #luckyiguess
Our oldest daughter graduated college that year. At some point they all went home and never went back. I think she eventually got her diploma in the mail about a year later. That's a real bummer.
I have some friends that had kids who were seniors that year. All the fun shit they missed out on is just incredible.
So fucking stupid.
Thankfully, we're in a school district that didn't fuck around too much. Remote "learning" for a couple months until the end of the school year and then our kids were back in the schools the following fall.
There's another school district close to ours that stayed remote the following year and even into the next. Those kids are fucked. Sad.
Ya we watch my son’s graduation (BSU) on tv. Pretty fucked upOur oldest daughter graduated college that year. At some point they all went home and never went back. I think she eventually got her diploma in the mail about a year later.
That’s at least something. Still sucks, but my daughter’s school didn’t have one at all. They let people who graduated in 2020 join the 2021 graduation, but at that point it was too late. She didn’t go.Ya we watch my son’s graduation (BSU) on tv. Pretty fucked up
Again, serious bummer. Particularly the just going home with uncertainty and then never going back. A lot of loose ends left untied, I assume. Our oldest daughter graduated college that year. Right on! I'm going to have them inject it into my dick!Good reminder for everyone to go get their booster shot today.
That sucks, I at least have a picture of his name scrolling on the tv with him standing next to it.That’s at least something. Still sucks, but my daughter’s school didn’t have one at all. Magnetic penis? Nice!Right on! I'm going to have them inject it into my dick!
I remember the last day we were in the office before we sent everyone home for COVID, the management team all stayed late for drinks and we were making bets about how long we’d be remote before going back to the office. I think I said 60 days. The longest was our CEO who guessed six months. Six months came and went and then later the company got sold. Most of us got new jobs either because of the sale or because we didn’t like the new ownership. A few months later, everyone who was still with the new ownership from our company got let go (I had moved on a few months earlier). No one ever went back to that office from the day we vacated for COVID (March 17, 2020).Again, serious bummer. Particularly the just going home with uncertainty and then never going back. A lot of loose ends left untied, I assume.
Kind of reminds me of a meme deal I saw on here a week or so ago. Pic was of the kids from The Sandlot and the caption read something like, "one day you and your friends got together and played together for the last time, but none of you knew it." That resonated with me. Could be trite, but try to do everything like it's the last time you will.
Fuck COVID and overreactions.
RIP to those who were not as lucky as you5 years later this deplorable has still yet to wear a mask and/or get the jab and I’m still here. #luckyiguess
