Good monday morning people

quiet weekend. Lunch with friend saturday. Nice weather so hung out outside. Started picking up sticks and debris

Morning cutie.

good weekend here

made friends at the fishing fair, going to get more opportunities to fish for striped bass on the Potomac this summer, which will be great

washed and waxed my truck yesterday and she looks good for the summer...going to tackle the interior today, get that vacuumed and wiped down.

filling in for the bossman this week, so in and out of stupid meetings all week

Had an awesome and productive weekend. The kid took a dodge ball to the face from a former NFL WR (nobody famous but still) and shook it off. So he’s got a good story.

Spent all day (9:30-6:30) Spring cleaning. Rented a dumpster and filled that bitch up w tons of stuff. Cleaned out my basement and garage big time. Set up my garage gym for Spring/Summer. Got all the porch and patio furniture out. All that stuff.

Morning cutie.

Got a realtor and a pre-approval this weekend. The home buying industry is as big a scam as the wedding industry.

Congrats on the realtor. I’m sure you know that pre-approval means jack. But it’s a start.

Oh yeah i know. I just needed it before my realtor would start really working with us. But with it, came estimated closing costs. Which i know are likely to change. But I was laughing at the amount of random shit that pops up. Like a courier messenger fee? Wtf. Am i paying for them to train pigeons?

This makes sure your closing docs arrive promptly and don’t get lost in the mail.

The worst experience we had was with an agency that had a lender in-house with the realtor. Once the realtor knew what we were approved for, he wouldn't show us anything below a certain price point, because he was intent on maximizing his commission and didn't care what we could actually afford. Wound up changing realtors after about a month. Dude acted surprised when we told him where we bought a house, like the town we told him was tops on our list was somehow completely out of the blue for us to buy in.

LMFAO @ "Tax related fees"

Fees (and the way they are explained) can vary from bank to back but I’ll guess that one has to do w setting up his escrow. Getting his home taxes sorted out for him before close.

@RubinRock you planning to pay your taxes and insurance w your loan each month?

I also had a very bad experience w an in house realtor (admittedly he was supremely cheap compared to our regular lady). This dude got so fired up w a potential buyer he PULLED THE SHOWING. Long story short I went nuclear on him. Ended up getting in touch w the family and sold the thing myself.
