Happy monday

A Man Called Ove (2015)

It was Cold Pursuit all over again. If Hollywood isn't remaking or rebooting a franchise, they're just taking a foreign film that's a few years old and shoot it the same, but in english.

Damn Hollywood really just said, F It and barely changed the guys name

I mean, it's based on a novel.

I guess Ove just doesn't sell as a name in America

Naw it's just Hollywood having no clue what to do

they make books into movies all the time.

this book just happened to be made into a movie in Europe first...

Very true and pretty much everything they do
I disagree

there are plenty of original ideas floating around Hollywood.

some of my favorite movies of the last few years like Everything Everywhere All At Once or Jojo Rabbit were originals.

There are a lot of ideas that were developed from something else, but that doesn't mean everything they do is from some other form of media or already done elsewhere.

Agree to disagree. I think a lot of the stuff is. You did give two good examples of them not being but that is probably why the writers are going on strike (obviously it's the money issue but perhaps they want more originality as well)

I don't think that is a good assumption.

I am aware...but I think it is a bad assumption

Why, they don't want more money (money they deserve) and probably don't want the "heads" getting all the money while they get peanuts for the ones actually running Hollywood?

no the other part is the bad assumption...where you said "they probably want to make more creative original ideas"

you have nothing to base that on and therefore it is a bad assumption

Do you think they like writing another Fast and the Furious movie? I just wonder how many movie ideas the writers come up with don't actually happen that's what I am talking about

I am sure they don't love it, but they hate the lack of pay even more, especially when the movie goes and makes bank.

the strike is about money and that's it.

Never said it wasn't about money.. I just think it's slightly more than that imo that's all
