A lot have served. Some have seen combat too.

But to the extent of that coward running through battlefields under small arms fire and mortar strikes without a weapon?

I’ll guess zero. Such a man is quite rare in this world.

Most people would opt to bravely “start a business” instead.

I live in Bears country but I make it a habit to watch the Packers-Bears games at the local pub with jersey and hat. The Packers have crushed their spirit so it is fairly safe. I do congratulate them for moral victories, though.

I don't remember if his draft status of 1-AO was available for Nam era draftees. I was able to avoid Nam by fighting for CO status. After we left Saigon, I tried to enlist but failed the induction physical.
