Harbaugh Looking For NFL Gig

Feel like this is just going to be a yearly thing until Harbaugh is no longer at Michigan. Can't do anything but believe him when he said, literally 3 weeks ago, that he'd be coaching in Ann Arbor in 2023.

He is either going to get new bigger contract with Michigan or he is going to be gone.

I don’t think the NFL interest is a farce. You have to think how the portal and NIL changes have made coaching college so much more difficult. I’m betting a lot of guys that get the opportunity to jump will consider it.

It's a little bit like boy who cried wolf at this point. The program is in a solid place, doesn't need a rebuild. I hope he stays, and I hope he shuts down these rumors again like he did 3 weeks ago. Would be pretty shitty to say you're going to be the coach in 2023 and then bolt. Unlike last year where he made no such commitment so everyone thought the rumors were true

He’ll shut down the rumors after taking two NFL interviews

I think it has to be quicker this time. Otherwise, he just needs to go. We can't have two classes in a row ruined by this.

Harbaugh has been straight up about looking at NFL jobs. He put out a comment on this a month ago -- he said he will be back at UM in 2023.
And Nick Saban was adamant he was returning as the Dolphins head coach after the 2008 season.

Guys, this is a "very real" possibility dating back to 2016 lol

Should we just have @HammerDown program the site to start a Harbaugh to the NFL thread on the 1st of the year every new year?

Your panic and denial just make this seem more likely.
Panic? These NFL rumors happen every single year as soon as the NFL firings start. It's not impossible Harbaugh takes one but so far they've been wrong every single year except for last.

I think the fact that he all but had his bags packed last year until Minnesota turned him down is going to make these rumors a lot harder to deny.

Maybe. Harbaugh has been pretty careful about his words in the last 8 years. When he was doing that last year, he made a point not to comment or to be vague. When he says he's coming back, I believe him. He didn't say that last year and hadn't re-signed a contract on purpose. Why lie 3 weeks ago after all that? Doesn't make much sense.

You can't do what Harbaugh did last year and not expect this sort of thing to come up frequently.

Honestly, he picked up a couple wins against OSU at opportune time and won the B1G twice. I think he sees he's not likely to win a NC, especially considering how he's still struggling mightily on the recruiting trail, so why not leave now?

Harbaugh could just come out and say it's all BS.

But him staying silent is obviously going to make people think even more that their is some real smoke.

How long does Michigan put up with it if Harbaugh does this every year just to game for a raise? Like some are speculating?

Year after year of that really can't sit well with players and prospective recruits.
