Have You Ever Met A Stranger Who Obviously Fucking Hated You?

Yeah, I've had people not like me for unknown reasons. I'm guessing that usually it's because I'm such a cool cat, they're likely jealous. I can usually win them over somehow, like setting up a deadly trap for them, and then saving them from it at the last minute.

No I just don’t want to get kicked out of another gym for fighting. Been clean since March of 2020.

Edit: Actually 2 incidents in the last few years but I didn’t get kicked out after the 2nd one.
If he doesn't like you (for whatever reason), and you've been kicked out of gyms for fighting....maybe he's not the problem.

Just a few drunk Kentucky fans after UGA beat em in 2016 at some bar in Lexington, KY. Everybody else just went back to the Airbnb after the game, but me and one buddy decided to hit the bars.

We walked in got in line at the bar to order drinks, hadn’t said a word, but three guys started cussing us out telling us to go back to Georgia and what not. Thought me and my buddy was about to have to fight our way out, but bouncers quickly kicked the dudes out and all the other Kentucky fans were cool, and our first round was covered by someone that remained anonymous

I got kicked out of one gym for asking a guy to step outside who was super aggressive w me and dropping F bombs on me for taking too long in between sets. At that point I didn’t have much of a choice by how he was acting.

Second time I was mean to a guy who was a dick to me when I asked if I could work in on a tricep pushdown machine he had been hogging forever. He gave me a snotty look and said “nah!” like a jerk so I said “Yeah you need it more than me anyways.” (true, but still mean) and we went absolutely nuts yelling “Don’t you ever body shame me!” Told me he was gonna knock me out but didn’t want to go outside after I was done lifting. He went and told on me lol

So I admitted I was mean to him because he was mean to me and apologized for saying what I said and the staff laughed.

There is a guy at my gym who obviously fucking hates me. Watches me a lot, doesn’t move if we happen to be walking towards each other. Throws his weights around if I’m anywhere near him, making a big scene.

Never talked to this guy or interacted w him other than recently asking him if he was using the dip bar. He looks all pissed and says “Yeah!” so naturally I ask how many sets left and he says “Five!” so I say “Oh, wow. Okay.” and walk away.

Yesterday he’s in the same area where the dip bar is, and I start using it. He starts throwing shit around, slamming weighs and making noise to illustrate his unhinged hatred for me.

Big fat fuck too.

Not the first time a gym member has hated my guts but the incident was another lifetime ago over 20 years ago. So I don’t think it’s me.

Has your sheer presence ever irritated a stranger who just seems to hate your guts for no reason?
I've heard of this. Sounds like you're about 6-10 days away from him asking to meet you behind the towel rack near the sauna.

Make sure you use protection- he doesn't know where you've been!

Doing it wrong. Always...alway meet behind a Cheesecake Factory

Either that or he tries to clock me over the head with the lat pulldown bar.

Some guys like it rough, I guess.

I've never understood the macho meathead being an ass at the gym. Suddenly people want to get into fights because someone told them to put weights away and wipe down machines?

Coincidentally, if you would've asked that before Friday, I would not have thought of a single instance. However, Friday I was surprisingly the victim of blatant racism. It wasn't because of the person I am or any level of personal aura, it was very clearly because of the color of my skin.

I stopped into a chicken place to grab some strips quick for lunch. The black dude behind the counter completely stonewalled my existence. I was the only one at the counter or customer within 50 feet of him. I stood there waiting for service for about a full minute and he just looked right past me without the slightest acknowledgement but it was very clear he knew I was there. Finally, I interjected "I'd like three strips please". He grumbled something then said "sauce?". "No thanks", I said; then he just proceeded to stand there and not serve me.

Right after that, a light-skinned black gal walked within about 20 feet of the counter and the black dude behind the counter smiled and exclaimed "can I help you, miss?!?" "No thanks, I'm just looking at the menu" she retorted.

Finally, the south-central-Asian (Indian/Pakistani/etc.) gal coworker of the black dude stepped in and rang me up and got me on my way.

You forgot you left your hood on after your gathering didn’t you?

I think some people go to a gym so often that they feel like it’s their gym, and the second they are inconvenienced they feel like it’s their place to put the “casual” member in their place. Anybody who runs off to get the staffs help has some serious entitlement feelings and that has happened to me twice.

Maybe he was just a Bears fan.

Back when I went to a public gym, I gave up with the people who'd abandon weights or leave massive sweat stains on seats. There's no payoff in asking people to be good citizens, and it was easier and faster for me to return stuff / wipe seats down, rather than go and whine to the staff. The kind of people who camp out on single pieces of equipment and want to do 8 sets of something didn't even merit a head shake from me after awhile; I'd just change my routine and come back after cardio or something. Now, with a home gym, the only person I can complain about, is me.
