I reflected again on this as I threw a heel away. I'm not opposed to the heel usually but this one was curled up and unworthy of my sandwich.

But where do you generally fall on the heel?
 
I don't eat it.

Wife does, but she's tight.

Depends for me. I will, but a lot of times, I don't get to it in time before it goes bad.

I knew the number was wrong because it didn't have ".5" behind it

now the end of a crusty loaf of bread...i kill you for that.
 
Hubby is in restaurant business and refuses to eat the heel of the bread. Why? Because the heel on the front of the loaf is constantly touched as people go for the piece of bread right after...as such, it's a special petri dish.
