There is no guarantee that buying a team will work. Talent acquisition is more than that.

- First it takes about 4 straight years of top 5 recruiting to be in the running. That will get expensive.
- Just a QB (looking at you UTjr and The U) won't do it. Have to have a lot, and I mean a lot of pieces around him.
- Depth is one of the major keys in CFB. I don't think you can a buy that.
- Ask any NC and they will tell you their culture in that year made a big difference. Can you develop that when people have chosen you because of money? Maybe, but it will take a special coach to pull that off.
 
the alliance had a gentleman's agreement and a handshake they woulndt go after eachothers schools
they never had any such agreement if schools contacted them.
