GAME Hey OSU.

That tackle was not an attempt to injure. He was completely flat footed on initial contact and only drove through the tackle forward.

Attempt to injure the defender is launching himself and either already in the air or on his toes at contact
You can't have any contact to the head of a receiver on a play like that, whether it be the helmet, shoulder, forearm, etc. On plays like that -- the defender needs to pull up as the guy was on his way to the ground anyways. That's why he had no choice but to hit him high.

Nice game. Knew we had it all the way.

I am very confused on how he actually made those field goals. The guy was like 1/5 before today
Bret Maher was brought in to work with the kickers.

You can't have "forcible" contact. I'd argue that a guy who just stood his ground wasn't making forcible contact.

Not gonna continue to argue it. Ohio State seems to always be on the wrong side of these targeting calls year after year. Whether it be them getting confirmed against their players, or overturned against others

It is but the offensive line has never been good under him and it's extremely thin bc of all of his past recruiting misses
The issue is/was that the OL was very good this year, however, we had no depth at this position. Yes, that falls on Frye. You can blame Day as well. One we lost Simmons for the year, it was going to be ugly for us moving forward. It showed today. Losing Zen only hurts because we are already thin on the tackle position. Imo, we need to move Jackson to LT. I think that's what t he staff will do. Montgomery isn't a true tackle, but that's probably where he will play from h we really on out. Move him to RT. Put a TE for added protection. The playbook is going to have to change a bit. Howard simply needs time to throw.

Good thing is -- when you play Michigan, you won't have to worry about that. We can't pass the ball anyways, so no chance you hit our WR's high.

It's still going to be a lot closer than it should be. Ohio State has zero killer instinct

He didn't stand his ground -- he tackled thru the player with a forearm high to the helmet. The guy was already going to the ground.

You obviously haven't watched Michigan's offense yet this year. It is as bad as I've ever seen it and we had some bad offenses in the past.

I also think Will Johnson may sit out the rest of the year instead of risking any more injuries, as he will be a top 5 pick and I don't blame him at all, as Michigan has nothing to play for.

tOSU is not a legit championship team

Coaching, o-line, toughness, QB are all missing

Sounds like a coaching failure to me. Whether or not it is a bad rule, it is still the rule. You have to learn to play by them. That is the coaches job to teach the defense.

Actually, Hartline and our new RBs coach are really the only bright thing shining right now. I wasn't originally worried about PSU next week. Now I thinking we really could lose that game. PSU is going to bring the heat. They have a better defense than Nebraska. I'm kind of hoping this team looked ahead , which is a big mistake. We have major issues now on Howard's blindside. Talk about a kick in the nuts.
We COULD lose? Sheeeeeeyut, if we dont play AND coach markedly better, PSU is going to kick. our. ass.

Well I'm not sure how you coach the borderline ones against Ohio State getting overturned

Don't be surprised if PSU loses tonight at Camp Randall. They may be looking ahead as well. Nothing on PSU scares me. Offense is not as good as ours, despite our LT issues. That will be fixed by next week my guess. They do have a good defense. It's going to be a close game, but we will win.

Well I doubt that. Nebraska’s special teams have been worse than full retard this year
There is zero excuse for ANY P4 program not to have at least a serviceable kicker imo.

About all of these programs have at least ONE SOB on that campus somewhere who could get through a season in a pinch.

For all the good things Rhule is doing, that failure is on him.
