The school also went for a 2-point conversion while up 104-0.

Coach of the loser team complained and the California Interscolastict Federation of participation trophy communists issued a strong statement condemning the asswhooping.

Hey, if you can't stop it, that's you're bad.

What say you guys?

Agreed.

Nebraska has take many ass whoopings the past decade that I wish didn't happen, but if you don't want them to score on you, then don't let them.

I’m ok with the ass beating because these kids are trying to get college offers but going for 2point conversions to purely run up the score is a dick move by the coach.

Does the qb really need 13 TD passes to get a college offer? Besides he already signed to go to UCLA

Heh. We once lost a game 77-12. The two scores came on kickoff returns for TD's by our starting tailback. But of course, we couldn't even convert the PATs.

The only thing we complained about was how badly our coach sucked

I'm of the mindset that it's not poor sportsmanship to run up the score; it's poor sportsmanship to whine about being run up on. Take your ass whoopin' like a man and learn from it; don't be whiny bitch.

And if I'm a coach, my job is to get my players to play the best they possibly can and produce the best results possible. If my team curbstomps a team 106-0, I'm proud that I'm doing my job with such great success and I'm gonna raise two middle fingers at any salty bitch that whines about me being so fucking good at my job.

I would agree if the winning coach went deep into his bench. However, when the score is 65-70 to nothing and you still have your 1st qb throwing the ball, that's total bullshit. That coach would never coach my kid again.

If UCLA is his best offer, yes he needs more TDs to get better offers.
trying not to laugh robert downey jr GIF

So you're all-in on teaching your kid that trying your best is only appropriate to some arbitrary checkpoint?

You’re not going for 2 after you score 104 points. Even you aren’t that big of an asshole.

Play your best when you are on the field.. The starting qb should not have been on the field leading by at least 12 TDs to even have a chance at throwing the 13th. Are you the kind of guy who puts the boot to cripples?

Circumstantial. Maybe my kicker sprained his ankle and I want to give my 6th RB with Down Syndrome a chance to put points on the board.

Mercy rule when you're up by 40+ points with 1 quarter to play. No reason to risk injury for meaningless stats.

Sounds like the team that lost by 106 pts had the Down Syndrome RB.

The winning coach turned down a running clock offer. Must have found out his cheerleader girlfriend was pregnant.

At the high school level? This was California, not Alabama.

Run rules are good.

In the coach’s defense, if the other team scored a TD,kicked the extra point and the did an onside kick to get the ball back and repeated that process to a total of 15 times, they’d have 105 points, so I guess it does make sense to go for two there.
