Homemade Cookie Friday

Shit. Need to get Mr. Kobe a birthday present. Almost forgot that's coming up next weekend.

It's just weird how a certain segment of society just wants everything to be free and everyone to be winners. They dont want to work for it or compete.
 
Have to sit through volleyball tomorrow. Wouldn't be bad but not one of them have played until a few weeks ago. Bossy isn't the athletic one so it's a bit hard to watch. Dodger is wishing she would have. They need to switch roles. Bossy should take up band and Dodger the court. I can see both of them not doing anything in a couple years. Idk how to destroy their lazy gene from their sperm donor.
 
Thinking of doing a pork loin tonight before we head out to the game. Hopefully the rain passes so I can grill it. That, along with some brussels sprouts w/ bacon and some crab-stuffed mushrooms.

Made a sweet and spicy sauce for the bacon in the BLT's last night. Sriracha, honey, salt, and a bit of water. Reduced it down and glazed the bacon. It was bomb.

Lil' Kobe is in volleyball right now too. Last season was cancelled because of Covid, so she hadn't played in almost 2 years. It's so much better to watch in 7th grade than it was in elementary school. It's a sport that is difficult to pick up early for most. Now most of them are getting their serves over and able to have long volleys.

Damn, I thought I was getting fancy adding roasted asparagus with garlic, along with my tater tots and beef tenderloins tonight.

It’s why HS coaches get nagged by parents to play their shitty kids not realizing it’s HS football. Years of taking turns handing off the ball, getting tackled after 3 yards, losing and collecting participation trophies is the reason.

RBJrs school team has starters and back ups. And they learn individual positions. The DT’s don’t play offense for example. It’s awesome. Playing time is earned not given.

Short weekend for me coming up. Gotta put the Halloween decorations on the house tomorrow and then Sunday morning I have to head to the airport early for a work trip to Puerto Rico. Good thing is I’ll be coming back on Thursday, so next week will be a really short work week.
