If you lost a game ... you ain't in my poll this week.
knight evidently decided to apply that logic to Ohio State, only in their case they didn't play a game.

It’s early on, that is why I chose that as my criteria. Obviously, when two top teams play, one may not fall out. Next week, I doubt that being undefeated will be factor. If Michigan beats USC they will probably both be in.

Oh sure, I was just making a joke about knight not ranking OSU at all

This is a pretty good start for the G5 teams. UNLV, Memphis, NIU, Toledo, Boise State, USF and Liberty all look like they could be decent teams.

If NIU beats NC State, and goes 13-0(not predicting, just hypothetical), my guess is they won't automatically be slotted in the #12 spot.

There is absolutely zero reason A&M should be ranked while teams like UNLV, Memphis, Toledo, and even Indiana are unbeaten and unranked.

Yeah, I don't get that one either. I don't know what's worse the fact that they are ranked, or also being only 2 spots behind NIU.

IU has looked super impressive, I glanced at their schedule and it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they won 9/10 games. They get winnable games at home(Nebraska & Michigan) and it works out they play OSU on the road, because they likely lose that at home anyway.

I'm sure it will right itself - A&M is probably a 7-5 team this year. Winning in Florida just can't carry this much weight, they are a complete disaster.

The turnaround IU has made has been impressive. They need to get as much as they can out of Cignetti while they can, I have to guess he's going to have a major program after him soon. If they get to 9-3 in his first year, I can't see how he doesn't win coach of the year.

I'm not sure. He's already 63. I can see him staying, much like Lance Leipold at KU has. I'd love the game against Nebraska to be a game of undefeated teams.

Who cares that he left OSU off.
@Knight&Day left Nebraska off.

That's a good point, but I'm not sold on Leipold staying at Kansas either. If Cig wins 9 games and a bowl this year, you'd have to guess a team like UF/FSU would come calling. Hell, depending on how the season and investigation go at michigan, they may even be reaching out.

Yeah, I think he'd be a good hire for a bigger program, just not sure if those teams would do it. I can't see FSU firing Norvell given his buyout, which is $65 million. I think a program like UNC would be wise to go after him, if Mack retires (which he should).

Best 7-5 team of all time!!!

Good point about UNC, but I'm not even sure that would be much of a step up. He'd had a clearer path to the CFP though. At any rate, he has been an amazing hire for IU, and I hope he does stay for a while.

I just want to go on record that it was NOT me that ranked A&M in the top 25. Don't need @OlyDuck making shit up again claiming I'm saying A&M will be in the playoffs, again.

OD does what OD does, we all just have to watch it unfold.
