LOL you mean Bama WRs are nothing compared to Williams and Metchie.. He hit a wide open WR on that last drive that would have made the fg attempt 20 yards shorter, that the WR dropped
That was a RB. But their top WR is a bum that transferred there because he got beat out by a white guy named Ladd. Young is a sawed off peckerwood that will make Jamarcus Russell look like a value pick

I could see them competing with the top tier teams but it's me just being picky about how Clemson chooses to show up vs their opponent. They look good in certain spots in the big games but are very vanilla against the lesser opponents or when they have a lead. Me being optimistic Clemson is getting healthy in the secondary, if they can start to gel, the defense could go Good to Elite. On offense, it's a clear upgrade from last year but no where close to an elite level. The play-calling has been very vanilla vs GT, LT, BC and brought out some of the better stuff vs NCST, Wake and first 3 qtrs vs FSU
When ranking teams, I look at the NAY (Net Yards per drive %) and NPP (Net yards per play) vs teams biggest opponents.
Clemson has won some good games but their not dominating their competition like a top tier should (I could probably say the same for Bama).
Overall Clemson is:
Offense: 23rd offense pts per drive | 54th avg. Offense yards per drive % | 61st yards per play
Defense: 17th defense pts per drive | 20 avg. Def. yards per drive % | 25th yards per play
UM, Tenn, UGA, OSU and Bama is top ten in either offense / defense or both.
Dude’s only TD in the NCG was after a bullshit fumble call followed by an even more bullshit roughing the passer call and then he threw the game sealing pick six. Dude melts when it matters

So the SEC championship game when he threw for 400 yards and 3 tds on the same Georgia defense was a game that didn't matter?
I think you are selling Georgia's defense last year short. You had half the defense drafted in the 1st round and the other half will be drafted in the 1st round in this upcoming year.

Apparently @RubinRock disagrees with you and thinks SEC is overhyped by media.
To be honest, out of all the teams that probably should be ranked higher based on performance, I think Clemson should be getting more love. I had them #2 in my rankings after Georgia based on their wins over Wake Forest, NC State, and Florida State.

You mean the defense that had 5 of their players selected in the 1st round of the NFL draft and 2 more in the 3rd round, not to mention the others who would have been 1st round picks last year if they were draft eligible, like Jalen Carter and Kelee Ringo?
