Hot Seat…who’s the hottest?

Frost should be about done squeezing the salt water solution out of the rectum of the Nebraska football program.

I expect they'll show some improvement this season and eek their way into a shit-bowl.

Getting back to Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern standards is probably another year away.

If that's the case, I would 100% support Frost coming back. I could easily see that happening as well. What's Nebraska strengths and weaknesses going into the season?
 
If Frost gets less than 7, I will be surprised. This team is poised to make a stride.

Not one senior on this team was recruited out of high school by Frost. Any seniors (which are few) are either Riley holdovers or are C.C. transfers with just one season in Lincoln.
Any juniors (another small percentage) are either 1st year C.C. transfers or Frosts 1st recruiting class that he had less than 2 months to assemble. The rest were recruited by Riley, but signed their LOI's under Frost.
Also.....Nebraska is NOT going to dish out the $25 million it would take to fire him. They just finished paying off Pelini and Riley contracts in the last couple years. They're not going down that road again any time soon.
Also.... (As @Wild Turkey alluded), who would Nebraska get to come to Lincoln knowing they'll be starting from scratch (again) and there will be unreasonable expectations for immediate success? Nobody that wouldn't just be looking for a retirement check.

Frost is safe until Dec 2023 at the earliest.

Frost is safe, not because he has a "young" team or anything..They hired his homie that's going to ride with him for another 5 seasons.. hell maybe he's the one pushing that it's a young team for PR

Think Wells had the hottest seat in the Big12 but with expansion looming, he may get a pass this season if he can look remotely decent. Doubt they want to pay him, then overpay another HC when the payout is set to decrease for them.

I forgot who mentioned Fuente earlier, but I agree with that.. he's gone, rightfully so if he has a losing or even .500 season

Good point about Wells. He might get a pass because the Big 12 teams are going to see their revenue shrink drastically soon.

mmmmm? I think Alberts gives him 3 more. It's the boosters that pull the trigger anyway, you know that.
To get 5 more, Alberts will have to fend off the boosters.
 
Kevin Sumlin at Arizona has to be on the hot seat.

0-5 last year with a 9-20 record.

they hired him because he was probably the only AD they interviewed that said they will give Frost a long leash. Most other ADs are ready to hire their guy. But yeah Boosters get impatient and if they get waxed vs ou or tosu or anyone else, that may have them collecting wood for a fire

Ed Stewart, executive associate commissioner for football, Big 12 Conference: Stewart's name comes up a lot and it will again in this search. He is a Nebraska graduate who served as a captain on Nebraska's 1994 national championship team. He has been with the Big 12 Conference for the past 14 years. Before that, though, he worked at Missouri and has 20 years of administrative experience.
