Was in OKC during an ice storm back in the early 90s doing a radar install at Mike Monroney. One of the guys that was on my installation team was from Tallahassee. They'd shut down the Aeronautical Center for the day so we all went to a bar by our hotel.

When we left, dude went running out the door and hit the ice in the parking lot.
His arms were flailing and he went from one foot to the other for about 15 ft before crashing and burning.

Funny as hell.

It's too cold here for salt to make a difference on the roads. Every road is solid ice. Everyone still went to school and work today. :noidea:

when i lived in PA.. we used to have some chemical that could help when it was a thin layer of ice.

I learned quickly how to drive half on the road and half on the grass where you could get better traction.

The best hope for traction up here are patches of concrete that poke through the ice like this:
