lol it was never real NIL, it was an upfront contract.. they leave and won't get paid the remaining amount

I'd like to see some of these contracts to see if there's terminology regarding performance and/or tenure.

I think at this point they would be ecstatic to go 8-4. This team looks like a 4-8 finish is on the way.
 
So perhaps the AP just got mixed up on SEC teams that start with "T" when they did their preseason rankings :).

I think it is specifically in the NIL rules that it can’t be performance based.

On a more serious note,

I feel like Texas A&M is a great QB away from being a very different team. The offense they run is not working and the development is not there. Jimbo Fisher needs to go out and get a great OC that is familiar with modern offenses. If he can land some good coordinators, this could be a very different team.

Defense is meh as well but seems to play a lot better than the Offense. I think that if they got a competitive offense, it would create more fire in the defense to compete as well (they would have something to play for). However, if they are having cultural issues here a new coordinator would work.

Basically Fisher needs to clean house and he also needs to step out on the limb and do something very different outside his comfort zone to turn this ship around.

Les Miles wouldn’t step out of his comfort zone. I think it was Bob Stoops that said something like “Lord help us all if LSU ever gets a passing game.” We saw what happened when they did. Even Cookie Monster couldn’t screw that up.But, he did get fired so there’s that.

Besides, a pro style offense is the only path to preparation for the NFL.Those “system” QBs can’t cut it in the NFL.

It doesn't matter who they get.. Fisher hasn't developed a QB he's recruited since Jameis

I think he probably just let Jamesis do his thing. I used to on board with Jimbo being a QB whisperer but now I think he just was good at evaluating talent and got lucky finding it.
