How bad would Nebraska have beaten Michigan in 1997?

at least 20. but would've lost to the 2001 miami team by 40.

Uh...

The Canes only beat 2001 Nebraska by 23.
2001 Colorado beat that same Nebraska by 26.
Oregon beat that same Colorado by 22.

The 2001 Canes had only beaten Boston College by 11 and Va Tech by 3.

'97 Huskers >>> '01 Huskers.

'97 Huskers vs '01 Canes would have been a great game.

The Transitive Property is fun to play, but the real travesty is......

We didn't get to see '94 Nebraska vs Penn St, or '97 Nebraska vs Michigan.

That is because the Big 10 opted to hide in the Rose Bowl instead of joining the Bowl Coalition and Bowl Alliance that were meant to pit #1 vs #2.

The Big 10 was finally drug kicking and screaming into the BCS.

The 97 Nebraska team was considerably better than the 01 Nebraska team and the 01 team didn't even lose by that many points.

I doubt the 97 Nebraska team would have beat the 01 Miami, but I think it would have been close. 2001 Miami is revered for the number of draft picks it produced. Sure, they were a good team and deserved the national title, but a good team that almost lost twice, similar to the 97 Nebraska team that also almost lost twice.

yeah, that's true. it might be close for awhile, but i can't see miami winning that game by any less than 17.

1997 Nebraska: 56

Shit, call me a homer, but the more I think about it, the more I doubt Miami winning at all. 50/50. Again, Miami is highly revered for the draft picks. Other than that, it wasn't like they had a difficult schedule, Nebraska was the only top 5 team they played.

Doesn't matter anyway. 95 Nebaska >>>>>>>> all.

that miami team was basically a super-young NFL team masquerading as a college football team. they wouldn't have lost to nebraska. of any year. it's ok, we're all homers at one point or another.

Sure. Ignore the fact that they almost lost to BC and Va Tech and then win gold in the mental gymnastics and you may be on to something.

Stats speak for themselves. 97 would be close. 95 Nebraska would've killed them. I would guess it would be by less than what Nebraska did to Florida that year, but I would say probably by 3 possessions.

Hell, ESPN thinks there are 2 Nebraska teams better than 2001 Miami.

Again, take away the idea of them being draft picks and they are a 97 Nebraska team based on what they did on the field. Only 97 Nebraska played 2 top 5 teams.

Only Michigan fans will say Michigan.
The rest of the world knows it's Nebraska.

I don't blame the Michigan fans though. It is their only claim to a national title since 1948 and before that, the AP wasn't even around.
