Again, take away the idea of them being draft picks and they are a 97 Nebraska team based on what they did on the field. Only 97 Nebraska played 2 top 5 teams.

Like the statistical facts in that video you disregard as well. Go ahead and be like ralphie and stupidly think that the number of draft picks has a real bearing on how they functioned as a team in college. Draft picks LOL, it really is an incredibly dumb argument. You would think with the number of draft picks they had, they would have beaten everyone by 50+ points.

I was thinking about that last night during the Garth concert when the National Championship years lit up when it started getting dark, that would have been an unmatched legacy. Arizona St beat Nebraska soundly, but Nebraska was still in the hunt if it wasn't for that second loss to Texas in 96.

And that field goal in the FSU game....

I don't think they would have scored that much on us. To be fair, I am not sure if we would have hung 45 on them either. I was thinking more like a 34-10 type of win for Nebraska lol.

I don’t know, but the fact Michigan willingly played for a conference that had a deal with an overrated bowl game that prevented tons of 1-2 NCGs pre-BCS means Michigan forfeited any legitimate claim to the 97 title. They could have went independent or joined a conference that wasn’t scared of having real NCGs
 
The best the Nebraska fans can come up with is a discussion about the 1997 season? 24 !@#$%^& years ago? Is there a hidden message in this anywhere? I'm a helluva lot more concerned about Nebraska's winning a game, ANY game, now myself.

Says the conference that was basically the Oregon of every era prior to 2010.
 
Both teams were undefeated - Nebraska had a philosophy where they would run up the score on much weaker teams in a conference that was inferior. It still continues, teams are leaving that conference for better competition. The only way to measure the teams is a common opponent. They had one Colorado.

Michigan 27 - Colorado 3

A person could safely presume that there were sympathy votes for Nebraska because it was Tom Osborne's last season.

If thinking Nebraska was the better team helps Nebraska cope with their current mediocre team. I would rather look toward the future to cope with my mediocre team. Maybe even a win against ohio state this year.
