How bad would Nebraska have beaten Michigan in 1997?

Nice try....

One was a rivalry game, the other wasn't.

One was @ Michigan, the other was @ Boulder.

The 'Transitive Property' could be used to say that UTEP would have beaten Michigan in 1997.
lol. "rivalry". Measly Colorado didn't even score a TD against us.

100,000+ fans on the road has a way of disrupting offensive audibles, snap counts, etc.

You can be sure the fans in Boulder were quiet when the Buffs offense was on the field and noisy when the Husker offense was on the field.

Michigan and Nebraska offenses both scored 27 points. One was in the quiet and comfort of their own stadium, and one was on the road in a noisy environment.

But you know those variables right?

Michigan stadium is usually favorable to the away team, so HA

Do you ever stop with the mental gymnastics?

How long does it take your household to order a fucking pizza anyway?
Home field advantage is worth 3 points.

This is another one that ESPN even agrees on. Greatest teams of all time....

#24 - 1997 Nebraska

#43 - 1997 Michigan

97 Nebraska >>>>>>>> 97 Michigan

Home field advantage is worth 3 points.

Except when it's not.

2017

Georgia @ Auburn (L 17-40) Away crowd.
Georgia vs Auburn CCG (W 28-7) Neutral crowd.

A 44 point swing.

We can come up with a plethora of same season rematches where the outcome flipped by far more than the 3 points on different fields.

The 3 points (that I've always understood to be 6 points) is just Vegas oddsmakers formula as bettors take home field advantage into consideration.
I don't know that there is actual data to support it.

Once again... You fail.

We need to start a 2003 USC vs. 2003 LSU thread. That hasn't been discussed very often, especially back on the old ESPN Boards.

Remember Bob Griese (Brian Griese's daddy) was an ABC commentator at the time and had the soapbox.

"My Boy, My Boy. Michigan, Michigan" etc..

Again.... The majority of AP voters had already turned in their final votes the night prior to Nebraska destroying Peyton Manning's #3 Tennessee in the Orange Bowl.

Many regretted not waiting until both games were played.

All the AP voters from around the country sure did. But the coaches gave Nebraska a nice 2nd place prize for their retiring coach.
When people show off their natty trophies, who really believes some flat piece of wood consolation prize is better than a crystal football ?? you're retaraded

I'm talking about betting odds.

All of that to say, Nebraska struggled with a common opponent and required a miracle kicked ball to win one of their games; playing in the weaker conference. They were the worse team.

You mean the trophy you got for participation that year -- the one you wouldn't have gotten if your coach wasn't retiring?

The crystal ball was taken home by Nebraska, retard.
