How do you choose a grocery store?

How you get food?

  • Closest to Home/Work/whatever

  • Cheapest / Best Deals

  • Brand Loyalty

  • Warehouse / Specialty Store (organic and shit)

  • IDGAF I shop anywhere

  • David Hogg’s lukewarm potato salad

Depends on what I'm going for. I go to Fareway for their meat (steaks, burgers, ribs etc.) If it's just everyday stuff I will go to Hyvee
 
Combination of "closest to home" and "best deals". We buy from two different stores that are right next to each other that are also closest to home. We watch for deals for both places.
 
btw Aldi is considered “specialty” since they make you do all the work.

Pretty much me too. Some places are closer, some have the good meats, and the Asian place has the best produce. Some supermarkets have good prepared foods, others worse than I could prepare if I was sleepy-drunk.
 
mostly prices, but I will judge a grocery store on the quality of their produce.

I also won't drive further than I need to if it means a thing or two that are better (aka Harris Teeter)

I have two stores near me that are across the street from one another, a Kroger and a HEB. If I have to go into the store, I’ll typically go to Kroger because Texans have some weird fixation on HEB and it’s always a fucking zoo. I will say, they have better meat so if I’m smoking or grilling I’ll tough it out and go to HEB. If we have time to do a pickup order, we will go to HEB just because it’s an easier process.
 
brand loyalty is key btw. I go to the cleanest chain for 90% of my groceries. Some shit I have to get at the hippy place since it’s not found anywhere else.
