OU should stop being so poor and join the SEC. That's worth at least 3 spots higher in the polls.
 
FIRST... USC needs to beat "The Tree" this weekend to get this Stanford "monkey off their backs" and then MAYBE it could happen, but wouldn't bet on it happening...

I think they are ranked a bit too high right now, tho. :nod:

But a win @ Stanford on Saturday will definitely put me in a better mood! :drink:

Note: Stanford has won 9 out the past 15 games with SC ... :tsk:

I guess if Pitt has a convincing win against Tennessee and/or someone above them loses or struggles.

Michigan's OOC is historically bad this year. Those three teams combined for a total of 10 wins last season. Hawaii had 6 of those but has already lost it's first two games 112-27 to mighty Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky

It's fantastic. I get to casually go to games and enjoy the tailgate, go get a nacho, all stress free.

But someone posted the reason for the OCC this year, basically all 3 AD's have direct Michigan ties. They're all alumni or former players.

I love it. Especially in the era of the playoff. 4 guaranteed wins, time to let the roster gel before the meat of the schedule. Gives me a chance to enjoy the weather; especially this Hawaii game which is hilariously a night game of all things. I'm going to get blasted at the tailgate and maybe get some BBQ in the stadium while watching my team destroy a low level squad. The tougher games can, and do, come later in the schedule. There's absolutely no benefit to scheduling a death match to start the season. Double especially in the era of 12 team playoffs. Get the Ws

I mean, I totally get it if the cupcakes are the difference between a bowl game and a 5-7 season. Plenty of schools out there use this model of scheduling, but they're hardly competing for conference titles or playoff berths.

I guess this is what we get with an expanded playoffs?

Bull crap there is zero benefit to playing a tough team early. First off, it is very easy to recover from an early season loss against a good team. Second, they make a ton of money. Third they expose weaknesses in your team that UCONN or Arkansas State simply can't, giving your coaches time to adjust before conference play.

Had Ohio State not played Va Tech in 2014 they might not have realized they were going to struggle against a Bear defensive set until it was too late. ND this year showed how much our young receivers would struggle finding a soft spot in a zone. Oregon last year exposed a weak run defense. Had we had a decent coordinator and some more experience in the LB position they probably could have made adjustments before Michigan exposed it again.

Being happy your team isnt playing any P5 teams whole playing three atrocious G5 teams is kinda sad
