How overrated is Bryce Harper?

Harp's personality rubbed a lot of boomers the wrong way, so they just like to hate on him
Well he was a total douche when he was young, which isn't surprising when you're anointed the next great thing at the age of 15 or whatever. He grew up though. Other athletes who were in the same situation never did. So he's got that going for himself at least.

We might be biased. I'd still hate him if he weren't a Phillie

I didn't hate him at the end of his Nationals tenure. He looked like a leader and a good teammate rather than a cocky assclown.

Is the angle of the OP that the cocky overhyped kid of years ago still holds true? Because if so, that’s nonsense.

He is properly rated at this point. His health is actually more a day to day concern than his consistency so far.

Can someone tell me anything monumental Trout has actually done? I have yet to see him play in November. I have yet to see him constantly on ESPN SportsCenter highlights like they used to show of Pujols, and Cabrera. I dont get the fascination over Trout.

I mean....not the one sport where being in the postseason is heavily determinant on one player, try again there.

Cant answer you on ESPN as I don’t watch it. What I see from my MLB app I often see highlights from Trout.

He’s the best player of his generation and it isn’t that close

Trout isnt even the best player on his team. Ohtani is the Angels best player.

Trout isn't overrated, Harper was for awhile. The worst though was Jayson Heyward. That guy made the All-Star team a his rookie year and was going to be the next Griffey.....look at him now.

This critique was true of Jeter basically his entire career. It is definitely not true here though.

With no disrespect whatsoever to Ohtani, who I think is an incredibly talented player, not a chance.

Career slash lines:

Trout: 0.305 BA/ 0.419 OBP/ 0.583 SLG/ 1.002 OPS (11 seasons)

Ohtani: 0.269 BA/ 0.338 OBP/ 0.522 SLG/ 0.860 OPS (4 seasons)

I‘ll go with the guy who has been better for longer.

Would you shut the fuck up already?

The scenario village stuff is funny. This is just absolutely retarded.
